Norfolk Island pine (photo by Tom Pope) |
Norfolk Island pines (Araucaria heterophylla) frequently accent our homes during the Christmas season. Make sure you keep them watered while it is on display.
After Christmas, remove the decorations and place the tree in a good growing environment. These trees can be moved outdoors to a sunny spot during spring through fall.
The Norfolk Island pine, however, is not hardy and will freeze, so provide protection during frost and freezes during late fall through midspring.
