The public can learn the latest about the greenhouse tomato industry at the LSU AgCenter Red River Research Station’s 14th annual greenhouse tomato seminar Feb. 26 in Bossier City.
Dr. H.Y. Hanna, an LSU AgCenter researcher at the station, will present information on cutting costs without reducing yield, a new root media recycling method that saves money, research tips that produce results, productive greenhouse varieties, pollinating the vegetable garden yourself for food and fun and growing your own vegetables in a hobby greenhouse.
AgCenter personnel also will conduct a tour of the station’s greenhouses and a special training session on grafting.
Individuals can register by calling 318-741-7430. No fee is required for the event, which will last from 1 to 5 p.m.
The LSU AgCenter’s Red River Research Station is located three miles south of the Jimmie Davis Bridge on U.S. Highway 71.
