News Release Distributed 01/14/10
The LSU AgCenter’s LaHouse Home and Landscape Resource Center will offer a class on ways to improve residential landscape on February 6, 13, 20 and 27 in Baton Rouge.
Margaret M. Pierce, LaHouse coordinator, said the program will be presented in four 1.5-hour sessions from 9:30-11 a.m. on consecutive Saturdays. The classes are designed to help homeowners better maintain their landscape with minimal environmental damage.
“We plan to provide information to help residents reduce pollution, conserve water and enhance their environment by improving home and landscape management,” Pierce said.
John Young, LSU AgCenter horticulturist, will conduct the four Saturday classes at LaHouse, which is located near the intersection of Burbank Drive and Nicholson Drive (Louisiana Highway 30) in Baton Rouge across the street from the LSU baseball stadium.
Pierce said registration for the course is $20, which includes the book “A Guide to Louisiana-friendly Landscaping.”
