Mold control and remediation training scheduled for March 31-April 2

News Release Distributed 03/11/15

BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU AgCenter LaHouse Resource Center will conduct a Mold Control and Remediation Training course on March 31 – April 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day.

Satisfactory completion of the course fulfills the initial 24-hours education requirement for a Mold Remediation Contractor License in Louisiana, said LSU AgCenter extension housing specialist Claudette Reichel.

It provides crucial knowledge with the hands-on training that contractors and technicians need to safely and effectively perform mold remediation.

“Our course includes not only methods training and industry standards, but also the mold, building science and moisture insights needed to diagnose causes and provide long term control,” Reichel said.

This course is part of the LaHouse educational program to shape resilient and healthy homes in the Southern region. It also qualifies for Louisiana Incumbent Worker Training Program tuition reimbursement for eligible employers (see www.laworks.net for IWTP information), and is eligible for 24 continuing education units for Louisiana residential contractors.

For information on registration and the course fees, go to www.LSUAgCenter.com/LaHouse, and click on the Seminar and Events page.

LaHouse is located at 2858 Gourrier Ave., directly across from Alex Box Baseball Stadium.
