BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU AgCenter LaHouse Home and Landscape Resource Center will host its seasonal Saturday open house on April 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The open house will focus on how to keep homes cool, dry and termite-protected through spring and summer. These solutions can translate to more money for summer expenses when less is needed for high utility bills or home repair costs, said AgCenter extension housing specialist Claudette Reichel.
Highlighted exhibits will demonstrate cost-effective sun, heat, rain, humidity and termite control systems and strategies.
“These features not only offer greater comfort and energy efficiency but also enhanced home durability, sustainability and indoor air quality to protect your family’s health,” Reichel said.
LaHouse is also open for self-guided tours Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
LaHouse is located off Nicholson Drive at 2858 Gourrier Ave. across from Alex Box Baseball Stadium in Baton Rouge. A donation of $5 per adult is requested to help support educational programming and exhibits.
