BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden has renewed its call for entries for the sixth annual Brush with Burden art exhibition.
A juried multimedia exhibition, Brush with Burden features all types of art inspired by Louisiana’s natural beauty, organizers said.
“We want to make sure interested people don’t overlook the opportunity to participate,” said Jeff Kuehny, resident director at the Botanic Gardens.
The theme for the 2016 competition is Southern Sights, and entries will include paintings, 3-D work and photographs.
This show is open to all U.S. residents 17 years of age and older and to all art media except video and film, Kuehny said. Works must be original, must have been produced in the past three years and must not have been entered in previous Brush with Burden competitions.
All artwork must be priced and available for sale.
The entry deadline is Jan. 20, 2016. Submissions will be on exhibit March 13-20, 2016, in the Ione Burden Conference Center in the Botanic Gardens. All winning works also will be displayed following the Burden show at the Shaw Center for the Arts in downtown Baton Rouge.
A full description of rules for entry is available online at Brush with Burden.
