CROWLEY, La. – The Louisiana Master Farmer Program will offer Phase I training June 23 at the Rice Research Station.
Presentations will include water quality standards, commodity-specific best management practices, programs offered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service and regulations under the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures.
The day will start with registration at 8 a.m. and end midafternoon.
New participants will be able to complete their Master Farmer Phase II training by attending a brief conservation planning session at the Rice Research Station Monday afternoon immediately after the Phase I training on June 23 and by attending the Rice Research Station field day on June 25.
The third and final phase of the Master Farmer program consists of writing and implementing a resource conservation plan for an individual’s farm.
