Home orchard workshop to be held at Hammond

The LSU AgCenter and the Tangipahoa Parish Master Gardener Association will hold a home orchard workshop at the Hammond Research Station on Feb. 24, from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m.

Topics to be discussed by LSU AgCenter faculty include backyard fruit trees, fruit that requires a trellis, insect infestations, diagnosing diseases and hands-on training: pruning and grafting.

Registration for the workshop is $15, which is required by Feb. 21.

The research station is located at 21549 Old Covington Highway (Highway 1067 off of La. Highway 190).
