MANSFIELD, La. – The International Paper Foundation contributed $5,000 toward Louisiana 4-H Camp educational programs at a breakfast reception Aug. 24.
The money will be used for material and supply costs for tracks in outdoor adventures; science, engineering and technology; food and fitness; and wetlands and wildlife, said Louisiana 4-H Foundation Executive Director Eric Eskew.
Many International Paper employees and company leaders participate in 4-H volunteer activities in various parishes across Louisiana, IP communications manager Kimberly Leupo said.
IP has paper mills in Mansfield and Campti that employ approximately 1,200 people.
“The International Paper Foundation awards grants annually to organizations who support environmental education and literacy in local communities in which we operate,” she said.
“We accept foundation grant requests year-round at both facilities and typically receive 20-30 applications annually,” Leupo said.
