SHREVEPORT, La. – The Louisiana 4-H Foundation will host a fund-raising sporting clay tournament on Aug. 19 at the Shreveport Gun Club.
Proceeds will go to the LSU AgCenter 4-H Shooting Sports Program and to the Joe Barrett Memorial Endowment Fund. Barrett was a 4-H agent in north Louisiana for 27 years before his death in 2010.
The tournament format includes five-person teams with each participant shooting 100 sporting clays at 10-plus shooting stations.
The field is limited to the first 30 paid teams.
Teams will be divided into three flights with first, second and third place awards in each flight. There will be prizes for high overall shooter for men, women and youth.
The fee is $150 per shooter and includes door prizes, lunch and dinner, drinks and snacks on the course.
Participants must provide their own ammunition, limited to field loads only.
Special event stations include an optional two-person platform wobble shoot and optional mulligan station.
Registration opens at 10 a.m., followed by lunch at 11 a.m. The tournament begins at noon, with dinner and awards at 5:15 p.m.
