Researchers working on farm-raising marine bait fish



Cocahoe Minnow
Found in the bayous and estuaries of coastal Louisiana, the cocahoe minnow is a prized marine bait fish used for fishing in coastal waters. These minnows usually are caught from the wild, but their population isn’t consistent. The LSU AgCenter's Aquaculture Research Station conducted a cocahoe minnow workshop to discuss the fish and the possibility of farm-raising them.
