BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU AgCenter’s LaHouse Resource Center will conduct a mold control and remediation training course Oct. 22-24.
This will be the last course of the series for this year, said LSU AgCenter housing specialist Claudette Reichel.
“Our course includes not only methods training and industry standards, but also the key mold, building science and moisture insights needed to diagnose causes and provide long-term control, which is what the client needs and wants most,” Reichel said.
Satisfactory completion of the course fulfills the initial 24-hour education requirement for a mold remediation contractor license in Louisiana, she said.
It also provides crucial knowledge with the hands-on training that contractors and technicians need to safely and effectively perform mold remediation.
“This course is part of the LaHouse educational program to shape resilient and healthy homes in the Southern region,” Reichel said.
It also qualifies for Louisiana Incumbent Worker Training Program tuition reimbursement for eligible employers – see www.laworks.net for IWTP information.
The course is eligible for 24 continuing education units for Louisiana residential contractors, she said.
LaHouse Resource Center is located off Nicholson Drive at 2858 Gourrier Ave. across from Alex Box Baseball Stadium in Baton Rouge.
