HOMER, La. – The LSU AgCenter Hill Farm Research Station will host a poultry field day on June 16.
The event begins with registration at 9 a.m. followed by a walking tour at 9:30.
The field tours will include presentations by LSU AgCenter research and extension faculty on:
– Poultry management practices.
– Equipment evaluations and innovations.
– Pasteurization of broiler litter.
– Calibrating litter spreaders.
Resident coordinator Bill Owens will conduct a demonstration of the Ecodrum composter.
The field day will conclude with lunch at 11:30 a.m.
Following the field day, representatives from the AgCenter and U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service will conduct a Master Farmer workshop from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
