Senetti pericallis (Photo by Allen Owings) |
Many people may be unfamiliar with pericallis, but the Senetti series contains the first repeat-blooming varieties.
They are good plants for late winter through late spring flower color.
Cold hardy to the upper 30s or low 40s, these plants are not frost-tolerant. They will need some protecting if planted in a landscape before the last killing frost or freeze.
Good for container gardens, retail garden centers feature them as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day and other spring holiday plants.
Mississippi State University Southern Gardening News featured this plant here http://msucares.com/news/print/sgnews/sg11/sg110215.html.
