Forestry Forum set for Feb. 25 in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The LSU AgCenter will hold its annual Central Louisiana Forestry Forum on Feb. 25 at the State Evacuation Shelter at the Dean Lee Research and Extension Station adjacent to the LSU-Alexandria campus.

Registration will be at 8 a.m., and the program starts at 8:30 a.m. Lunch is included, and the forum ends at 3:30 p.m.

The fee is $25 per person if participants pre-register by Feb. 21, and the fee is $40 per person for registration after Feb. 21.

Checks can be mailed to Robbie Hutchins, LSU AgCenter forestry agent, 300 Grady Britt Dr., Alexandria, 71302.

Topics to be covered include the future of AgCenter forestry extension work, the biomass industry in Louisiana, estate planning, the status of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry’s firefighting capabilities, and issues facing the forestry industry.
