NEW ORLEANS, La. – Four LSU College of Agriculture students attended a recent Produce Marketing Association Career Pathways program in New Orleans.

Career Pathways is designed to attract students into careers in the fresh produce industry, said LSU AgCenter economist R. Wes Harrison.

At the event, which was Oct. 17-20, the students received one-on-one mentoring with leaders from the produce industry, customized education including an industry overview, career panel discussions, tours of area companies and the chance to network with industry professionals at workshops, social events and on the trade show floor.

Harrison led the LSU team, which included four agribusiness students – Guillermo Fernandez, Elise Moore, Christine Schmidt and Robert Selders.

The Produce Marketing Association board selected LSU as one of 14 universities to participate in this year’s program.
