Farmer meeting on new fungicides set for May 24 in Crowley

News Release Distributed 05/21/12

CROWLEY, La. – Representatives of a company selling new fungicides for rice and soybeans will hold a meeting at the Acadia Parish Extension Office at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, May 24.

BASF will host the session to discuss the products Sercadis for sheath blight in rice and Priaxor for aerial web blight in soybeans.

The new products were recently approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for use in Louisiana because sheath blight and aerial web blight had become resistant to fungicides previously on the market.

The extension office is located at 157 Cherokee Drive, Crowley.
