27th annual Forestry Forum in Shreveport set for March 17

The 27th annual Ark-La-Tex Forestry Forum will be March 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Financial Plaza in Shreveport.

Sponsors are the LSU AgCenter, Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, Louisiana Forestry Association, Northwest Louisiana Extension Forestry Advisory Committee and the Ark-La-Tex Ag Council.

Registration by March 14 is $20 and $25 thereafter. Lunch is included. Send the fee along with your name and address to Forestry Forum, P. O. Box 370, Benton, La. 71006.

Topics include a panel on “We Need a Mill in North Louisiana;” current economic factors by Mike Dunn, LSU AgCenter forest economist; biofuel potential on forestlands and helpful forestry websites by Mike Blazier, LSU AgCenter forester; and Louisiana’s forestry issues by Buck Vandersteen, director of the Louisiana Forestry Association.
