Deer management meeting set for Aug. 22 in Bossier City

BOSSIER CITY, La. – LSU AgCenter wildlife specialist Don Reed will conduct a deer management meeting Aug. 22 in Bossier City.

The program on wildlife management techniques for white-tailed deer will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the city council chambers at the Bossier Municipal Complex.

Reed will talk about establishing and maintaining food plots and managing and enhancing native browse plants for deer. In addition, he will discuss other characteristics of deer and their preferred habitat that will provide helpful tips for landowners and hunters.

The program also will provide ideas for dealing with the problem of feral hogs infringing on deer.
