The Burden Horticulture Society, in conjunction with the LSU Rural Life Museum, will sponsor extra events at Harvest Days on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 16-17, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The extra events will be fun for the entire family, according to Jeff Kuehny, LSU AgCenter horticulture professor.
“We will have hayrides, a corn maze, a sunflower patch, a pumpkin patch and a hot air balloon ride,” he said. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras to take photos of their children with the scarecrow in the pumpkin patch.
Another event for the young people will be pumpkin painting.
“Each day, we will have hayrides through 3 p.m., and we are asking that an adult accompany all children under 12 years old,” Kuehny said.
Admission to the event is $5 for a family and $2 for individuals. The hot air balloon ride is $5 per person.
Admission to the events is only offered to those who pay admission to the Rural Life Museum’s Harvest Days. Kuehny said additional fees apply.
