AgCenter sets two cattle field days for Acadiana

LAFAYETTE, La. – The LSU AgCenter has scheduled two field days for Acadiana area cattle producers.

A pasture tour and field day will be held Aug. 20 at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Cade Farm.

Topics will include hay storage, weed control and an update on broomsedge control research, followed by a talk on the current cattle market.

Registration starts at 5:30 p.m., with the program from 6-8:30 p.m. Supper will be served.

The Cade Farm is located at 1178 J. Bernard Road, St. Martinville.

The Acadiana Cattle Producers fall field day will be held Oct. 2 at the Cecil McCrory Exhibit Building in Abbeville from 5:30- 9 p.m. A meal will be served.

Topics will include weed control, strategies for increasing a herd, heifer nutrition considerations and heifer selection.

The McCrory building is located at 1105 W. Port St., Abbeville.
