BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens will host a fundraising event for the Burden Horticulture Society, called Cocktails in the Gardens, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 15.
“With the rose garden as an elegant backdrop, some of the area’s top bars will be creating specialty cocktails that range from pre-Prohibition classics to contemporary drinks featuring fresh fruits, herbs and juices,” said Gigi Gauthier, director of development for the Botanic Gardens.
Area restaurants also will offer their signature dishes throughout the evening. Tickets for the event cover all food and beverages, Gauthier said.
A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $40 and include a parking pass and reserved access to a VIP lounge from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $30 and are valid for admission from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
“Admission will be limited and the event is expected to sell out, so buy your tickets early,” Gauthier said.
Attendees must be 21 years or older, and casual cocktail attire is requested, said Sonya Gordon, public relations coordinator for the Botanic Gardens.
The Burden Horticulture Society will use proceeds from the event for educational and outreach programing at the Botanic Gardens, Gordon said.
LSU AgCenter research and extension programs are conducted at the Botanic Gardens to support the state’s nursery, landscape, and fruit and vegetable industries, Gordon said.
