Farmers planting the fewest cotton acres in recorded history

Louisiana will likely have the lowest number of cotton acres in recorded history this year. LSU AgCenter cotton specialist and entomologist David Kerns is expecting farmers to plant no more than 150,000 acres. A decade ago the state’s farmers were planting as much as 800,000 acres of cotton.
