Recreational, farm pond workshop set for March 22 in Mandeville

BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU AgCenter Southeast Region Extension office is conducting a pond management workshop on March 22 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the St. Tammany Parish Council Chambers in Mandeville.

Speakers on the program include LSU AgCenter aquaculture specialist Greg Lutz and LSU AgCenter/Louisiana Sea Grant area marine agent Carol Franze, who will talk about managing pond water quality, stocking fish, general biological management and controlling unwanted vegetation.

The meeting is open to the public, but registration is required to reserve a seat. Register by March 19 to reserve a seat, Franze said.

To register for the workshop and for additional information, contact Franze at 985-543-4129. Each participant will receive a copy of the Recreational and Farm Pond Management Guide published by the LSU AgCenter.

The St. Tammany Parish Council Chambers is located at 21490 Koop Drive in Mandeville.
