BATON ROUGE, La. – A group of 34 Louisiana 4-H members joined more than 1,000 delegates from across the United States to participate in the National 4-H Congress Nov. 29-Dec. 3 in Atlanta.

This year’s congress provided the youth with a programming mix of educational, service and recreational opportunities, said LSU AgCenter youth development instructor Tanya Giroir.

“National 4-H Congress has been a tradition for 90 years,” Giroir said. “It was originally designed to recognize state and national winners.”

This conference is an opportunity for the Cooperative Extension Service to recognize the nation’s brightest and best young people, Giroir said. “The program is designed to help continue to develop youth as leaders.”
