BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU AgCenter and the U.S. Department of Agriculture are presenting a workshop on complying with regulations on genetically engineered organisms on April 30 in Baton Rouge.
The program will be conducted to help participants understand regulations concerned with research using genetically engineered organisms, according to Ted Gauthier, director of the LSU AgCenter Biotechnology Laboratory.
Intended for academic and public researchers involved in agricultural research with regulated genetically engineered organisms, the workshop will cover several topics, including an overview of USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service regulations.
In addition, the program will present information on permits and notifications, compliance inspections, enforcement and assistance by USDA Biotechnology Regulatory Services.
The workshop will be held in Room 214 Efferson Hall near the north gates of LSU on the Baton Rouge campus.
