Azalea symposium scheduled for April 4 at Hammond Research Station

The LSU AgCenter and the Louisiana Chapter of the Azalea Society of America will be hosting an azalea symposium on Wednesday, April 4, at the Hammond Research Station.

The program will begin at 9 a.m. and will conclude at approximately 2:30 p.m. Speakers on the program are Pat Newman of Folsom Nursery, Buddy Lee of Transcend Nursery and Plant Development Services Inc., Allen Owings from the LSU AgCenter and Rick Webb from Louisiana Growers.

The program is open to everyone from nursery and landscape professionals to retail, home gardeners, Master Gardeners and county agents.

A $20 registration fee includes lunch. Pre-registration is required because of limited seating.

The Hammond Research Station is located at 21549 Old Covington Highway (Louisiana Highway 1067) east of Hammond.
