25% of parishes in Louisiana have proposed versions of their Flood Insurance Rate Maps.

You can view the proposed FIRMs at LSUAgCenter.com/FloodZone. The site provides step-by-step instructions for comparing your flood zone on the currently Effective FIRM (used by the insurance, mortgage, real estate industries and as the basis for building permits) to what your flood zone will be if or when the proposed FIRM becomes the effective FIRM.

Parishes with proposed FIRMs are shown on the state index page as "striped". Sign up here to be notified when the FIRM or the status of a FIRM for your parish changes. This information will be used for no purpose other than the notification you are requesting.
